Intense ruby-red colour matches the intense nose of dark cherries and rich spices. A palate of plums with pepper and cloves followed by a long, silky tannin finish with undertones of chocolate and cinnamon gives the complexity that shines out with great, cool climate Shiraz. Although the cool-climate Shiraz style is generally not as heavy as the bold warm climate styles, they are commonly more elegant and “food friendly”. Very much in the Rhone Valley style, our 2016 Shiraz is a great accompaniment for full-flavoured dishes. It is particularly well suited to spicy, slow-cooked meats as well as char-grilled steak with rich sauces. Serve between 12 and 18˚C after allowing at least 30 minutes to breath.
