Carl has been professionally employed in the wine and viticulture industry for 24 years, acting as chief viticulturist and consultant for many boutique wineries on the Mornington Peninsula including Shoreham Estate and Martha Hill Wines.
He has been a contract winemaker for many of his viticultural clients and others for 12 years and has achieved many wine show awards. He is a steward at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show and regularly takes part in other industry events.
Whilst general manager at a well-known local winery, Carl designed and helped to manufacture a hydraulically driven machine to put out and retrieve bird-nets in vineyards. This machine has since been copyrighted and manufactured by Tatura Engineering and has become the industry standard for the handling bird-nets.
