MATTHEW ZERBE
Marketing and Sales Manager

Since doing an Associate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at RMIT in 1994, after a short time working as a welder and fabricator for GP Graders, Matthew has worked primarily in the family business. ​

His wine industry career commenced in 1997 when the family orchard was converted into a vineyard. Spending much of his time in the workshop, building and fixing vineyard equipment and developing innovative solutions to agricultural challenges. Matthew was responsible for managing much of the contract vineyard development and installation, whilst undertaking a number of wine appreciation and wine marketing courses.

In 2000 Matthew spent most of his time in the winery during vintage and working on the development of new markets.  From 2001 to 2013 his responsibility was for the organisation and participation in wine events and tastings as well as managing communications.

 

In 2013 Matthew and Garry established the Bittern Estate brand and has been focused on running the business. Consulting and contracting to other farming enterprises on the Mornington Peninsula.

In 2020 Matthew decided to study a Bachelor of Agriculture at Charles Sturt Univeristy to increase his knowledge in agriculture.
